FREDERICKTOWN — A. Jean Sparks, 70, of Divelbiss Road, Fredericktown, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Knox Community Hospital.
She was born Jan. 20, 1939, in Fayetteville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Walter and Gladys (Judy) Boothe. Jean was a homemaker and loved to cook for her family and friends. She was a member of the Amity Baptist Church.
Jean is survived by her devoted husband of over 52 years, John W. Sparks; sons, John R. Sparks of Fredericktown and Gary W. (Christy) Sparks of Loudonville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Boothe of New London; and a sister, Seba (Darrel) Johns of Crossville, Tenn.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Boothe; and a sister, Joyce Mason.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Saturday, May 16, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jerry Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Amity Cemetery.
