Darwin E. Young

DUBLIN — Darwin E. Young, 89, was born to the late Rufus and Nettie (Ryan) Young on Feb. 1, 1920. His loving wife was with him when he passed away peacefully Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Altercare of Hilliard.

He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville and a graduate of Danville High School. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces, serving in the Army from 1941 to 1945. He then married the love of his life, F. Lucille (Fesler) Young. They spent the next 66 years of their lives in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Georgia. He was a financial officer for the Westinghouse Corp., retiring after 48 years. He was known by his friends and neighbors for his acts of kindness and helpfulness.

In addition to his parents, Darwin was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma M. Young (husband H. Guy) Lauderbaugh; a brother, James L Young (wife Florence Young); and a nephew, James Young.

Surviving him are his loving wife, F. Lucille (Fesler) Young; nine nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and 30 great-great-nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 26, at St. Luke church on Market Street, Danville, from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Richard Snoke officiating. Interment will be at St. Luke Cemetery, with military honors being conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
