David L. Miller

LIBERTY, Ind. — David L. Miller of Liberty, Ind., died Monday, May 25, 2009, at Lincoln Centers East in Connersville, Ind.

David was born Nov. 12, 1943, in Mount Vernon, to Harold W. and Violet Marie (Cookman) Miller. He served aboard the USS Boxer in the Navy before returning and settling in the Liberty, Ind., area. David was married to the former Donna Jean Gillinger on Feb. 12, 1993. For several years, he worked as a cook at the Liberty Restaurant and Lounge, and previously at J&J Packaging for 13 years.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Miller; two sons and their spouses, Sam Miller and Carol of Mount Vernon, Matt Miller and Jennifer of Cuyahoga Falls; three daughters, Darlene Shephard of Nashville, Tenn.; Chastity Plemons of Liberty, Ind., and Lisa Farley of Hamilton; a brother, James Miller of Richmond, Ind.; sister and brother-in-law, Saundra and Sam McQueen of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a niece, Julie Chapman and her husband Keith of Mount Vernon.

With respect for David’s wishes funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Fayette County Cancer Society. Out-of-town contributions may also be mailed to the funeral home at 312 W. Union St., Liberty, IN 47353, on behalf of the FCCS.
