FREDERICKTOWN — Mary Blanche Stucky, 93, of Chualar Canyon and formerly of Fredericktown, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2009, at her home.
She was born Feb. 4, 1916, in Fredericktown, Ohio. She remained in Ohio for many years and raised her two children there. She moved to California, twice, before finally returning 25 years ago to live the rest of her life in Chualar Canyon. Though Ohio was always “home”, Mary Blanche grew to love the scenery of the beautiful Salinas Valley and enjoy the moderate climate and lack of snow.
Mary Blanche volunteered at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for many years and greatly enjoyed her years of service and the friends she made while working there. In her later years, she enjoyed seeing each of her great-grandchildren grow, and she cherished her weekly phone calls with longtime friend Elizabeth Maushund. She took great pride in her family — those who went before her and those who will continue on after her.
Mary Blanche is survived by her daughter, Helen Lindley; grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Green-Garcia, Robyn (Ken) Rauh, Ginger (JD) Aguilar, Chad (Michelle) Lindley; great-grandchildren, Kyle Green, Justin Rauh, Samuel Rauh, Luke Rauh, Josephine Garcia, Indira Aguilar, Jack Lindley, Gabriella Garcia, Shane Aguilar and Madeline Lindley.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Struble Henry, sister, Margaret Wells Struble, mother, Helen Wells Struble, and father, Ralph Young Struble, all of Fredericktown.
The family wishes to thank her home caregivers for their love and patience.
A private family memorial service was held on Monday, May 25.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m. in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown. The Snyder Funeral Home of Fredericktown is honored to serve the family of Mary Blanche Stucky.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 96, Fredericktown, OH 43019. This obituary and guest registry are online at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
