SUNBURY — Carl E. Gantt, 80, of Sunbury died May 31, 2009, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
He was born April 14, 1929, in Columbus to the late Frank Leo and Viola (Ball) Gantt. He was a member of Genoa Baptist Church where he was an usher. A member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Carl enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of God’s Thunder at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Odella (Farley) Smith-Gantt; son, Jim (Mattie) Gantt of Reynoldsburg; daughters, Carol Gantt of Pomeroy, Patty (Lee) Bell of Oak Hill; stepson, George (Barb) Smith of Sunbury; stepdaughters, Pam (Ralph) Robinson, Debbie Smith, both of Sunbury; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Dick (Gracie) Gantt of Hilliard; sister, Lillian Huffman of Heath.
He was preceded by brothers, Leo and George.
Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Genoa Baptist Church, where service will be at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Booth officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
