Ronald D. Beck

WESTERVILLE — Ronald D. Beck, 92, formerly of Clawson, Mich., passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Summerville at Outlook Manor, Westerville.

He retired in 1982 from General Motors production engineering after 28 years, authored and co-authored several books on plastic engineering and design. He graduated from Otterbein College in 1940. He was a lifelong Mason Trelum Lodge 552 F&AM, an amateur magician who enjoyed entertaining for retirement centers as well as family functions.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Belle (Lambert) Beck; and sister, Doris Levay Beck.

He is survived by brothers, Marston of Marysville and Loren of Westerville; sister, Mildred Costick of Mount Vernon; nephew, Neil (Pam) Costick of Mount Vernon; niece, Jeanne Beck of Marietta; grandnephew, Aaron Costick of Mansfield; longtime friend, Flora Willard of Rochester, Mich.

A memorial service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, OH. Chaplain Bruce Benzing officiating. Inurnment will be in Otterbein Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Hospice of the donor’s choice.
