FREDERICKTOWN — Carroll L. Wilson, 83, of Fredericktown died Monday, June 22, 2009, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. For the past year and a half Carroll had been a resident of the Country View of Sunbury.
Carroll was born Oct. 5, 1925, in Mount Vernon to Lloyd and Edna (Cochran) Wilson. He graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1944 and had spent his lifetime in the Fredericktown area. He maintained a farm and was a truck driver for MET Trucking, logging over 2 million miles. Carroll was a member of Christ the King Community Church and the Salem United Methodist Church, both near Fredericktown, and the United Church in Mount Gilead. Carroll was a member of both Wayne Grange and Pomona Grange.
Surviving are his son, Charles (Glenda) Wilson of Virginia; his daughters, Waneta (Larry) Daugherty of Staunton and Sharon (Eric) McKinney of Sunbury; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dale (Nora Mae) Wilson and Jim (Lenore) Wilson, both of Fredericktown. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, F. Lucille (Spearman) Wilson.
Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Liberty Chapel Cemetery near Mount Vernon.
