Ruth Olive Jones

MOUNT VERNON — Ruth Olive Jones, 79, of Mount Vernon went to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, June 22, 2009, in Knox Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Ruth was born July 20, 1929, in Canton, the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Ferrell) Garrison. She had lived in the Butler area most of her life, and she enjoyed her church, growing flowers, crocheting, but her biggest joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Ginger Jones of Mount Vernon, Frank and Carolyn Jones of Mansfield, Hugh and Joan Jones of Mount Vernon, Ralph Jones of Mifflin, and Dwight and Linda Jones of Charleston, W.Va.; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Ed Moran of Mount Vernon, and Peggy and Glenn Boggs of Butler; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom (Mott) Garrison and Harley Garrison, both of Mansfield; and one sister, Carol (John) Ratliff of Mansfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Junior Jones, on April 5, 1998; one brother, Dan Garrison; and one sister, Ethel Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25 at 10 a.m. in Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with Pastor Rhett L. Butler officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call Thursday one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
