CAMBRIDGE — Helen May (Smith) McLaughlin, 80, of Cambridge, formerly of Colorado, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the Cardinal House.
She was born April 15, 1929, in Salesville, daughter of the late Sylvan C. and Pearlie M. (McBurney) Smith. Helen retired from the Kroger Co. as a baker after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a graduate of Quaker City High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William McLaughlin, who passed away Jan. 6, 2004; and two brothers, Everett and James.
She is survived by two sisters, Marie Grimsky of Cambridge and Evelyn (Phillip) Harding of Byesville; sister-in-law, Carol Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; many nieces and nephews including, Beverly Smith of Upper Sandusky.
Calling hours will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Robert Borer officiating.
