Margaret DeVinney

PERRYSVILLE — Margaret B. Kelly DeVinney, 90, of Perrysville died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.

Born Nov. 23, 1918, in Blairsville, Pa., she was the daughter of Henry Harrison and Mary Belle Kelly. She married Gillis DeVinney in 1935 and they moved to Mansfield in 1937. Mrs. DeVinney was employed by Peoples Hospital as a L.P.N. for 33 years, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed reading, knitting and embroidery. An avid bingo player, she also enjoyed the outdoors, where she enjoyed camping and fishing with her family.

Surviving are three daughters, Barbara J. Lennington of Mount Vernon, Brenda (Ralph) Snyder of Mansfield and Susan Rinehart of Nebraska; two sons, Theodore (Phyllis) DeVinney of Mansfield and Kenneth (Connie) DeVinney of Perrysville; 15 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Gillis DeVinney, on Feb. 9, 2004; three sisters, Anna Mae Gamble, Nora Belle Henderson and Christiana Ross; two brothers, Albert H. and Leonard Kelly; a grandson, Andrew Lennington; and two sons-in-law, James Lennington and Stanley Rinehardt.

Friends may call Sunday, June 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with additional calling from noon to 1 p.m., conducted by her son, Kenneth DeVinney. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
