William R. Harstine

UTICA — A funeral service for William Raymond Harstine, 85, of Utica will be held Wednesday, July 1, at 11 a.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Hall officiating. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery.

Raymond died June 28, 2009, at Newark Healthcare Centre. He was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Newcomerstown to the late William and Amy (Harbold) Harstine. Raymond was a member of the Morgan Grange and Farm Bureau Council. He was a lifetime farmer and restored antique tractors.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Florence S. (Lawrence) Harstine of Utica; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard R. and Liz Harstine of Troy, and Dennis E. and Donna Harstine of Bladensburg; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Chris Norton of Newark; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Lyle Harstine; daughter, Linda Rasor; and two grandchildren, Scott Rasor and Christopher Harstine.

Friends and family may call Tuesday, June 30, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio or the Utica EMS.
