MOUNT VERNON — Jeraldine E. Martin, 78, of Mount Vernon Avenue, Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born Jan. 21, 1931, in Knox County and spent most of her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. Jeraldine was a member of the Mount Vernon Church of Christ. We will always remember Jeraldine’s favorite songs, “Eastern Gate” and “Good Night and Good Morning.” Through loving thoughts, prayers and memories, we will keep her spirit alive. Heaven has added a new angel and the day will come when we meet again.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles Martin; a daughter, Nancy (Ralph) Hall of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, Bryan (Lisa) Hall, Nathan (Amy) Hall, Aaron Hall; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Anastasia and Alyssa Hall; a brother, Bruce (Alice) Butcher of Utica; and a sister, Genevieve Bechtel of Fredericktown.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, John Butcher; and a brother-in-law, Harold Bechtel.
A funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619, E. High St., Mount Vernon, where friends may call one hour prior. Mr. Delmar Jervis will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
