MOUNT VERNON — Charles Wilcox “Chuck” Whitney, 90, of Mount Vernon died Monday morning, July 6, 2009, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home at Mount Vernon.
He was born on July 27, 1918, in Onondaga, Mich., a son of the late Hugh and Bernice (Wilcox) Whitney. Chuck had a lifetime full of passionate endeavors, especially farm life and activities related to farm and land, the most recent being “The Barn Consultant.” Until, the last few weeks, he was advising barn owners about the possibilities of preserving their barns for future generations.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Edith; daughters, Pamela (Eugene) Gray and Lottie (Craig) Shira; grandchildren, Sarah Martin, Edith Martin Thompson, Zebulon Martin, Amy Shira Bernicken and Kelly Shira; seven great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
