MANSFIELD — Clarence E. Scott, 82, of Mansfield died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Liberty of Mansfield.
Born Nov. 8, 1926, in Ashland, he was the son of Clarence Edgar and Floy (Ewing) Scott. He served with the U.S. Navy Armed Guard during World War II. Clarence then went on to work at GM as a steel control supervisor where he retired after 25 years. He was a former member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. He was also a member of the DAV and GM Salary Retirees.
He is survived by his stepson and daughter-in-law, William H. and Carol Rinker of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Michael (Gloria) Rinker and Rhonda Dobbs, all of Texas, Karla (Daniel) Corl of Bladensburg and Gregory (Amy Jo) Rinker of Westerville; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Cleo M. (Smith) Rinker Scott.
