MILLERSBURG — Doris Pauline Smith, 78, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at the Majora Lane Care Center.
She was born Oct. 23, 1930, in Danville to John W. and Loretta C. Smith. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, checkers and embroidery. She also loved the country music shows that Linda Gill took her to.
She is survived by six sisters, Mildred and Sharon Smith of Danville, Cathy (Larry) Mohler of Killbuck, Marsha Watters of Fredericktown, Linda (David) Gill of Howard and Patricia Frazee of Mount Vernon; three brothers, Paul (Dorothy) Smith of Howard, Victor (Bonnie) Smith of Loudonville and Marvin (Bev) Smith of Danville; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and stepniece and stepnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Louis D. Smith; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Smith; two nephews, David Louis Smith baby John Harry Smith; and two brothers-in-law, Forrest Frazee and Leroy “Ray” Watters.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. A graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the St. Luke Cemetery in Danville, with the Rev. David Spaulding officiating.
The family would like to give special thanks to Summer, Ginger and Betty from Touch of Grace; nurses Marilyn, Tammy and Bridget; the Majora Lane staff; and Hospice of Holmes County for all of their care and help.
