Marie Rhodeback

CROTON — Marie I. (Piper) Rhodeback, 85, of Croton died July 13, 2009, at St. Ann’s Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Columbus to the late Clarence and Thirza E. (Grove) Piper. She was a resident of Croton for over 50 years and a member of the Croton United Methodist Church.

Survived by her daughter, Shirley Evans; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl, Merle, Lee and Gene; sisters, Margie Pestel and Mary Jane Thompson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Piper; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Paul; son-in-law, Addison Evans; two infant sons; brother, Raymond Piper; and two brothers-in-law.

Friends may call Friday 4-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services will be Saturday 10 a.m. with Rev. Eva Marie Wolfe officiating. Interment in Hartford Cemetery.
