Alice E. Wagner

LAKELAND, Fla. — Mrs. Alice E. Wagner passed away July 12, 2009, at home. She was 92.

Mrs. Wagner was born in Grove City, Pa., on May 5, 1917, to David D. and Alice Coulter Price. She graduated from Grove City High School in the class of 1935 and graduated from Shennago Valley Business College in 1936. She was employed by Cooper-Bessemer for 27 years in both Grove City and Mount Vernon, Ohio, offices. She moved to Florida in 1965 and was employed by various ones and retired in 1982 as a Real Estate Broker.

She was a 50-year member of Lakeland Chapter 26 Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron in 1982, member of the Heart Fund in 1983, District Instructor in 1988 and Grand Representative to Ohio in Florida in 1993 and 1994. A charter member of Mecca Court 98 of Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, member of Kathleen Court Order of the Amaranth and member of Lake Gibson United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Betty Jane. She is survived by Mr. and Mrs. William Mayo and Mrs. Jackie Robinson all of Lakeland.

Visitation will be Friday, July 17, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lanier Funeral Home. Chapel funeral will follow at 7 p.m., with a private graveside Monday. Interment will be in Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
