GAMBIER — Frank H. Lane, 85, of Baker Road, Gambier, passed
away Thursday, July 16, 2009.
He was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Union County, Ohio, to the late Delbert and Helen
(Foreriter) Lane. Frank previously worked at Doc Fix It’s in Mount Vernon
before owning and operating Lane’s Welding in Mount Vernon. He served on
the College Township Zoning Board since 1966 and was a member of the Church On
The Rise.
He is survived by three sons, Terry (Lyn Durbin) Lane of Mount Vernon, and David
Lane and Randy Lane, both of Gambier; two daughters, Judy (Carroll) Hines of
Mount Vernon and Bonnie Lane of Fredericktown; four grandchildren, Tessa Miller,
Ryan Lane, Laura Greenlee Watters and Lisa Greenlee; two great-grandchildren,
Riley Miller and Mason Watters; four brothers, Charles (Mary) Lane of Newark,
Melvin (Linda) Lane, and Lloyd (Ilene) Lane and Ernest Lane, both of Delaware;
and a sister, Irene Webb of Sunbury.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Lane; a brother, Bernard Lane; and
two sisters, Marie Carper and Jenny Lane.
Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home,
619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050, where a funeral service will be held
on Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Richard Hite will be officiating. Burial will follow
in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
