Carl ‘Denny’ Mosher

MOUNT VERNON — Carl Denzil “Denny” Mosher, 79, of Mount Vernon died on July 20, 2009, in the Palliative Care Unit at Knox Community Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born May 5, 1930, in Amity and was the son of the late Carl and Lela (Armstrong) Mosher. Denny was a member of the Colonial City Baptist Church. He had operated several service stations in the Mount Vernon area and retired from Flxible Corp. in Loudonville after 10 years.

Denny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Catherine Jane (Martin) Mosher; son, Michael (Diane) Mosher of Columbus; daughters, Sharon Milligan and Karen Mosher, both of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Melissa (Tim) Smith, Bobbi Milligan, Shane (Marie) Mosher and Maegan Mosher; and four great-grandchildren, Matt Smith, Noah Smith, Dominic Mosher and Christopher Mosher.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Stull.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan Whisner officiating. Private family burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
