BRINKHAVEN — Demas Mast Jr., 84, of 1493 State Route 206, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at his residence.
He was born March 29, 1925, in Orrville to Saloma (Miller) and Demas Mast. On March 6, 1947, he was married to his wife, Clara, who died Oct. 6, 2004.
He is survived by his son, Freeman (Effie) Mast of Live Oak, Fla.; four daughters, Saloma (Dan) Yoder of Chrochranton, Pa., Sarah (Raymond) Yoder of Brinkhaven, Rachel (Robert) Yoder of Morrisville, N.Y., and Arie (Freeman) Mast of Bloomfield, Iowa; two sisters, Emma (Christian) Schlabach of Orrville and Katie (Issac) Hershberger of St. Patriot; 28 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Demas was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Henry Mast; a daughter, Katie Ann Mast; three brothers, Eli, Noah and Dan Mast; a sister, Anna Raber; and a grandchild, Adam Yoder.
Friends and family will be received at the residence. The funeral service will take place Friday, Aug. 14, at 9 a.m. at the home of Ben Beachy, 33577 State Route 206, Brinkhaven. Bishop Norman Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Mast Cemetery in Richland Township.
