Cecil J. Meeker

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Cecil J. Meeker, 66, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Pataskala, died unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at the Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.

He was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Columbus to the late Ralph J. and Juanita I. (Meadows) Meeker. He was a retired tester for Western Electric, Lucent and AT&T.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Evans) Meeker; daughters, Dorri (Scott) Fenstermaker and Melissa Evans; son, Rob Meeker; nine grandchildren; great-granddaughter; sisters, Peggy (Richard) Ford and Elaine McKenzie; many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends; and his canine companions.

Preceded in death by brother, Donald Meeker; and son-in-law, Daniel Needham.

Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with his cousin, Pastor Tom Meeker, officiating.
