GALENA — Judith Ann Schmidt, 66, of Galena died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, from a sudden illness.
She was born in Cambridge on April 6, 1943, to Albert and Francis Dusz. A resident of the Galena area since 1988, Judith always put the needs of others before her own and loved unconditionally. She enjoyed tending to her birds and flower gardens, as well as cross stitching. She treasured time spent with family and will be remembered for her gentle unselfish ways.
She is survived by her loving husband, Karl Schmidt; son, Tim Mahoney; daughter, Mary (Alan) Sawyer; stepsons, Dan, Wayne and Mike Schmidt. She was “DeeDee” and will be truly missed by her grandchildren, Lauren and Zach Sawyer, Maeve and Bridget Mahoney.
Services will be held privately by her family at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
