MOUNT VERNON — Katarina Worley, 15, of Mount Vernon died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus after suffering an asthma attack on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009.
Katarina was born Oct. 14, 1993, at Fort Sill, Okla., and was a junior at Mount Vernon High School. She was a member of Key Club, the Environmental Club and the Invisible Children’s Club.
Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Chante and Don Bevard of Mount Vernon; her father and stepmother, Jonathan (Leticia) Worley of San Antonio, Texas; her brothers, Steven (Jaclyn) Worley of Columbus and Jeanalex Worley of Mount Vernon; maternal grandmother, Patricia Strickland of Los Angeles, Calif.; paternal grandfather, Larry G. (June) Worley of Wilmington; paternal uncle, Mark (Carrie) Worley; maternal uncles, Anthony Berryman and Frankie Combs; and maternal aunts, Colleen (Stacie) Priest and Rockyie Giordano.
A service celebrating the life of Katarina Worley will be Saturday, Aug. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with the Rev. Jacob Bolton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday one hour before the service.
