MOUNT VERNON — Roy Neal Horner, 50, of Mount Vernon died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Roy was born Dec. 10, 1958, in Charleston, W.Va., and was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He had been an employee of LB Manufacturing in Mount Vernon and was a social member of the AMVETS and VFW, both in Mount Vernon.
Surviving are his daughter, Cory (Steve) Van Dyke of Mount Vernon; his grandchildren, Kyle Horner, Kennedy Horner and Riley Horner; his mother, Connie Sweet of Mount Vernon; and his brother, William “Bill” Horner of Mount Vernon. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Pearl Jack Horner; and a brother, Jack L. Horner.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown with Chaplain Charley Elkins officiating.
