Clara M. Graves

FREDERICKTOWN — Clara M. Graves, 84, of Colony Drive, Fredericktown, passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born July 16, 1925, in American Falls, Idaho, to the late Clifford and Martha (Walker) Caldwell. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mount Vernon and was commonly referred to as “Grandma” by the kids she read stories to. Clara enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing the organ or singing at home and church.

She is survived by her loving family, a daughter, Martha (James) Stone of Butler; two grandchildren, Sherry Frye of Westerville and Brian (Taryn Bonar) Frye of Westerville; two great-granddaughters, Amber Frye and Caleigh Kavanaugh. She will be sadly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kimbrough Graves; and a brother, Kenneth Caldwell.

Friends may call Monday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Bishop Troy Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
