HOWARD — Virginia M. Prindle, 89, of Howard Street, Howard, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born March 23, 1920, in Knox County to the late John and Leona (Penhorwood) Hill. Virginia had worked for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at the county jail and her father’s pool room in Howard. She was an active member of the Howard Christian Church, Rake and Hoe Garden Club and Pythian Sisters of Mount Vernon.
She is survived by her brother, Hearschel (Adeline) Hill of Mount Vernon; nephew, John (Cheryl) Hill of Columbus; niece, Joanne (Brian) Marshall of Westerville; four great-nieces and a great-nephew; special cousin, Norma Simpson of Howard; and good neighbor, Mary Ridgeway and family.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Kenneth Prindle.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Ben McKinstry will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
