MARTINSBURG — Edna M. Butt, 89, of Martinsburg died Sept. 17, 2009, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.
She was born March 26, 1920, in Licking County to the late Joseph E. and Rose Elizabeth (Gainer) Myers. Edna was a member of the Martinsburg Christian Church, Gambier Pythian Sisters, was a former Martinsburg City Council member and sold Stanley products for more than 50 years.
She is survived by her son, Richard Earl Butt Jr. of Martinsburg; daughters, Betty Jean Smith of Martinsburg and Patricia Louise Anderson of Candor, N.Y.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Ann Durbin; brothers, Joseph E. and Raymond L. Myers; and her husband, Richard Earl Butt Sr.
Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Arlin Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Evans Cemetery near St. Louisville.
