FREDERICKTOWN — Ruth Rosella (Davis) Shock, 76, of Fredericktown died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Richland County near Butler to Glenn Harold Davis and Florence Ida (Benge) Davis and had spent her lifetime in the Knox and Richland County areas. Rosella worked at Millers Restaurant and Gregg Manufacturing in Fredericktown, and retired from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center in Mount Vernon. Following her retirement she worked as a foster parent at Boys Village in Mount Vernon. She attended the First Church of God in Fredericktown.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda (Gary) Gallogly of Fredericktown; her son, Rodney Shock of Fredericktown; four grandchildren, Lance Gallogly, Brady Gallogly, Rajhona Shock and Rodney Shock II; seven adopted grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Paul Leland Davis of Galion; and her sisters, Norma Jean Billings of Toledo and Joanna Marlene Hinger of Mount Vernon.
Besides her parents Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Shock; and sister, Barbara Jean Shock.
Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Graveside service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Bunker Hill Cemetery near Butler.
