Thomas Michael Thompson, 47, died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009.
He was preceded in death by father, Richard E. Thompson.
He is survived by loving wife and high school sweetheart, Janet (Hopkins), sons, Brian, Kevin and T.T. Thompson, his good buddy and companion his dog, Penny, his mother, Mary E. Thompson, and mother-in-law, Lois Hopkins, all of Centerburg; sister and brother-in-law, Mindy and Kevin Jones of Mount Vernon; brother and sister-in-law, James E. and Leslie Thompson of Grapevine, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Jamie Deraleau of Maypearl, Texas; adoring niece, Emily Jones; nephews, Christopher and Taylor Deraleau; and great-niece, Alexis Page; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was an avid sports fan who loved his Browns, Buckeyes and Trojans. A longtime resident and graduate of Centerburg, he is remembered by many for his great personality and quick wit. There was never a day where he wasn’t playing a joke on someone. He was everybody’s friend who was willing to help us all. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul —and sings the tunes without the words — and never stops at all.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. at the Centerburg United Methodist Church, 23 Church St., Centerburg. Pastor Vicky Kelley will officiate. Private interment.
