MOUNT VERNON — Russell Kingsley Arthur, 59, of Mount Vernon passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, in Wooster.
He was born July 12, 1950, in Waterloo, Iowa, and was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1968. Kingsley was graduated from Kenyon College in Gambier, and Central Ohio College of Massage Therapy in Newark. He had worked with Mount Vernon Developmental Center and JCPenney HealthClub on Polaris Parkway in Columbus. Kingsley enjoyed playing the violin, camping, caring for his pet turtle, Chin, and was secretary of his numismatics club.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Diane; and his father, the Rev. Russell A. Arthur.
Surviving are his son, Ananda Li of Mount Vernon; his grandson, Kyle Ananda Jones; his mother, Charlene Arthur of Mansfield; sisters, Elizabeth Jane Arthur and Rebecca June Arthur, both of Mansfield; his brothers, Kenneth Allen (Linda) Arthur and Kevin James Arthur, all of Mansfield, and Kerwin John (Denise) Arthur of Chattanooga, Tenn. He left a girlfriend and significant other, Brenda Algire; and a special cousin, Stephen J. Arthur of Columbus; nephews, Cale Arthur, Timothy Arthur, Caleb Arthur and Titus Arthur; and a niece, Jennifer Arthur.
The Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the Arthur family. A memorial service will be held on a future date in the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon.
