MOUNT VERNON — Lester E. “Lucky” Workman, 55, of Mount Vernon died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at his home.
He was born May 27, 1954, in Mount Vernon, a son of the late Lester R. and Deloris (Davis) Workman. Lester was a truck driver for Gordon Johnson and was a shade tree mechanic. He also was a race car driver.
Lester is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon (Durbin) Workman; sons, Dale (Melissa) Workman of Orient and Jamison Workman of Riverview, Fla.; a daughter, Heidi (Jason) Neagles of Marion; a stepson, Rick (Debbie) Miller Jr. of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Edna) Hederick of Greer; sisters, Barbara (Bret) VanHouten, Tonja Lynn Sheller, Carmen Awwiller, Ethel Davis, all of Mount Vernon, Pam Obyrener of Alabama and Louann Cole of Illinois; his canine companion, Blue; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by brothers, Mike and Frank Davis.
