Chessie ‘Tina’ Johnson

HOWARD — Chessie C. “Tina” Johnson, 59, of Rutledge Road, Howard, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 16, 1950, in Clay County, W.Va., to the late Everett and Nellie (Boggs) Woods.

She is survived by her companion and the love of her life, Clyde Birtcher; a son, Ralph Johnson of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Anna Johnson of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herman Woods of Amity and Ralph (Susan) Woods of Tennessee; five sisters, Pebble Ferenbaugh of Bladensburg, Elizabeth (John) Steel and Rosemary Baker, both of Webster Springs, W.Va., Brenda Keylor of Bladensburg and Sharon Flack of Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by six brothers, Newman Woods, Burl Woods, Ferrell Woods, Early Woods, Thurman Woods and Timothy Woods.
