PHOENIX, Ariz. — Betty (Shoewalter) Parks Johnson, 79, of 20802 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Ariz., passed away Oct. 17, 2009, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
She was born May 22, 1930, in Mount Gilead, Ohio, to James and Marie Shoewalter. She was a 1948 graduate of Mount Gilead High School. She was a licensed cosmetologist for many years and retired from Erie County Plastics in Corry, Pa., after 25 years of service. She moved to Corry, Pa., in 1965, and after her retirement she resided in Summerville, Fla., Mount Vernon, Ohio, and recently moved to Phoenix, Ariz.
She is survived by three sons, Robin (Stacy) Parks of Phoenix, Ariz., Randy (Mel) Parks of Boise, Idaho, and Richard (Mary Ann) Parks of Greenville, Pa.; three stepdaughters, Ruth (Sam) Zamora of Wewoka, Okla., Nancy McCormick of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Kathy Brooks of Mount Vernon; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Milton A. Johnson; and an infant daughter.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial graveside service and interment will be May 2010 at River Cliff Union Cemetery at Mount Gilead. Arrangements are by the Loutzenhiser-Jordan Colonial Funeral Home, 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville, Pa.
