MOUNT VERNON — Ronnie R. Ferrell, 54, of Spruce Street, Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Jan. 21, 1955, in Lebanon, Va., to the late Robert and Maudie (Hull) Ferrell. Ronnie worked at Jervis B. Webb Co. in Mount Vernon. He was an avid fan of drag racing and NASCAR, and enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Pamela (Darnold) Ferrell; his children, Mia (Kelly) Moran of Martinsburg and Rodney (Mindy) Ferrell of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Kyle Moran, Bradley Moran, Rodney Ferrell II and Katherine Ferrell; brothers and sisters, Sandy (Danny) Davis of Mount Vernon, Forest (Beverly) Ferrell of Mount Vernon, Carolyn (Dan Crawford) Ray of Butler, Billy (Pheiedra Fawcett) Ferrell of Mount Vernon and Paul (Valerie) Ferrell of Howard.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two nephews, Teddy Ray and Timmy Ray.
The family will observe a private memorial service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ronnie R. Ferrell.
