James A. Parady

MOUNT VERNON — James A. Parady, 94, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at the Summerville at HillenVale in Mount Vernon.

He was born April 10, 1915, in Westmoreland County, Pa., to the late Albert and Sara (Ditty) Parady. Jim retired in 1972 after 28 years of service with the city of Cleveland Division of Fire. After retirement, Jim and his wife, Juanita, moved to Apple Valley and Jim worked for 14 summers at Apple Valley Golf Course. He was a gracious and humble individual and could be defined as a true “Gentleman.”

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Tony) D’Agati of St. Augustine, Fla.; four grandchildren, Lori Sikon, Anthony James D’Agati, Elizabeth Parady and Nathaniel Parady; and four great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Dan, Nicholas and Whitney.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Parady; a son, Ronald Parady; a brother, Charles Parady; and a sister, Genevieve Evilsizer.

Following burial in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, the family will observe a private service. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of James A. Parady.
