MANSFIELD — Floyd D. Swanger, 77, of rural Mansfield passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, in his home following a long illness.
Born Aug. 21, 1932, in Mansfield, he was the son of Charles and Blanche (Thompson) Swanger.
He is survived by his wife, Erma (Hamilton) Swanger; a son, F. Donald Jr. Swanger; daughters, Cheryl Warth and Joni Carroll; 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, three brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Jim Streib, assisted by Chaplain Dallas Waggle, will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park, where the Richland County Joint Veterans Military Detail will hold graveside military honors.
