FREDERICKTOWN — Richard G. Owens Jr., 54, of Old Mansfield Road, Fredericktown, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
He was born June 7, 1955, in Martin, Ky., to the late Richard and Beverly (Huff) Owens Sr. Richard was a member of the Club at the Breezze Inn. He loved NASCAR especially driver Jimmy Johnson. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan but will be mostly remembered for his big, generous heart.
Surviving are his two sons, William (Angela) Owens of Mount Vernon and Rick (Nichole) Owens of Fredericktown; three grandchildren, Scott, Mykalah and Lacey Owens; brothers, Tony (Judy) Owens of Ashland, David Owens of Ashland, Matt (Debbie) Owens of New London and Mark Owens of Ashland; a sister, Terry (Tom) Stults of Delaware; nephews, Robert and Todd Lawrentz; and a niece, Shawnett Layman.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Dan Emmett Conference Center with a memorial service beginning at 4 p.m. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the Richard G. Owens Jr. family.
