MOUNT VERNON — Mabel A. Lamb, 94, of Upland Terrace, Mount Vernon, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

She was born Feb. 5, 1915, in Mount Vernon to the late Clarence and Eleanor (Kells) Reams. Mabel was a 58-year member and past matron of Ann Hill Chapter 81, Order of the Eastern Star, of Fredericktown. She was also a member of the Gay Street United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Richard (Shirley) Lamb of Fredericktown; two daughters, Betty (Bill) Follet of Fredericktown and Joetta (Tom) Baker of Westerville; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Danals, Edna (John) MacMorris, John Lamb, Russell (Viola) Lamb and Floyd (Pat) Lamb.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Hugh Lamb; and three sisters, Elizabeth Frazier, Alberta Petee and Grace Boggs.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, where an Eastern Star service will follow at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

  The 2009 Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 28. It forms at the old high school football field at the end of West Gambier Street. It then travels east along Gambier Street, then north on Main Street to Public Square. The procession leaves the staging area around 1:15 p.m. and should arrive at South Main Street at approximately 1:30 p.m.
