GAMBIER — Calling hours for David Ross Rice, 61, of Gambier will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7 p.m.

David died Nov. 6, 2009, at his residence. He was born Oct. 29, 1948, in Mount Vernon to the late Ross L. and Ruby (Parsons) Rice. David loved life, he enjoyed many things, horseback riding and hunting as a boy, growing older getting into drag racing, riding motorcycles, water skiing and he loved hanging out with his friends. He was a master engineer, mechanic, welder and heavy equipment operator. David was a man of many skills who could fix anything. He was known and loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Craig L. and Kim Rice of New Albany and Luke J. Rice of Utica; grandson, Anderson “Rock” Rice; stepgrandson, Owen Perry; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and George Holbrook of Johnstown; and aunt and uncle, Robert and Perma Rice of Utica.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jane Stockberger.

Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, is assisting the family with arrangements.
