UTICA — Calling hours for Thomas L. Evans, 50, of Utica will be held today from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m., at Law-Baker Funeral Home with the funeral service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Nelson Smith officiating.

Tom died Nov. 17, 2009, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. He was born May 11, 1959, in Mount Vernon to Alton and Shirley A. (Hoover) Evans. Tom’s passion was singing and song writing and was lead singer for the Silver Canyon Band. He loved Elvis, going mushroom hunting, working in his yard and was an OSU fan.

He is survived by his wife, Anna R. (Hawkins) Evans of Utica; mom and dad, Shirley and David Tice of Hanover; daughters and sons-in-law, Cassity L. and Damon Baker, and Brandi L. and James Evans, all of Utica; one grandson, Kaden Thomas Baker; four stepchildren, Christina and Matthew McManaway, Nichole Bowens, all of Mount Vernon, Brian and Kari Ansel of Sunbury, Troy and Whitney Ansel of Charlotte, N.C.; 12 stepgrandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Cathy Evans of Utica and Jeff Evans of Newark; and sister-in-law, Tammy Evans of Granville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Evans; and brother, Chuck Evans.

Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, is assisting the family with arrangements.
