MARTINSBURG — Jackie Lee “Jack” Moran, 69, of Martinsburg died at his residence Nov. 25, 2009.
He was born June 26, 1940, in Newark to the late Lawrence and Doris (Cannon) Moran. Jack was a member of the Licking County Church of God. He was a longtime farmer and oil field worker; owning and operating Jack Moran Drilling and the J&D Arena in Martinsburg.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Iris Ann (Romine) Moran; four sons, Phillip Alan (Claire) Moran of Bladensburg; Randi Lee (Lori) Moran of Martinsburg; Dennis Ray (Michele) Moran of Newark and Sherman Dean Moran of Martinsburg; brother, Jeffery G. (Glenna) Moran of Martinsburg; sister, Judith Ann (Edward) Mills of Heath; grandchildren, Danette, Jackie, Todd, Miranda, Bonnie Sue, Misti, Mandi, J.R., Brandi, Brady, Brooke, Brock, Ashliegh, Nathan and Nickolas; six great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law, Cynthia Moran of Martinsburg.
Jack was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Fry and Janet Moran.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Licking County Church of God, 2181 Riggs Road, Newark, where funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Anthony Bartlette officiating. Graveside service will be Monday at 3 p.m. in Mount Zion Cemetery near Bladensburg. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg is handling the funeral arrangements for the Moran family.
