WALHONDING — Dwight Wernette Shoults, 84, of Walhonding died Nov. 28, 2009, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Licking County to the late Amzy and Edna (Boyd) Shoults. Dwight was a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susie (Vansickel) Shoults; daughter, Dianna Stokes of Lakeland, Fla.; grandchildren, Jerry Shoults, Janel (Andy) Willoughby, Amanda (Daniel) Caycee; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Stephanie, David, Katie Willoughby and Logan Caycee; great-great-grandchildren, Briski, Caitlin, Jordan and Noel Shoults.
Dwight was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Totten Shoults, in 1968; a son, Gary L. Shoults; and a brother, Raymond Shoults.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Perry Chapel Baptist Church and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Fowls officiating. Burial with military graveside rites conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council in Mount Zion Cemetery near Bladensburg. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg is handling the funeral arrangements for the Shoults family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of choice in Dwight’s memory.
