FREDERICKTOWN — G. Ruth Bone, 89, of Fredericktown died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon.
Ruth was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Fredericktown to Edward Ross Rinehart and Bessie (Taylor) Rinehart and had spent her lifetime in the Fredericktown area. She was a 1938 graduate of Fredericktown High School and had served as office manager for the former Kelly Walters Ford automobile dealership in Fredericktown, for Niggles, Faro, and DeCosky Pontiac Buick automobile dealerships in Mount Vernon and after retiring assisted at Stevens Pontiac automobile dealership in Fredericktown. Ruth was recognized many times by Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors for her outstanding work performance. In her younger years, Ruth was an avid bowler, participating in two bowling leagues. As much as she loved her work and bowling, Ruth’s passion in life was her flowers and flower gardens. She spent countless hours with her flower beds and potted plants. Ruth was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church near Fredericktown.
Surviving are her daughter, Nancy (Bone) Hollifield of Fredericktown; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Sherry Bone of LaPorte, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, David T. Rinehart and Edward D. Rinehart.
Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Joe Overholt officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
