MOUNT VERNON — Karen M. Bebout, 49, of Mount Vernon passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 28, 2009, at MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield.

She was born Feb. 25, 1960, in Mount Vernon, a daughter of Linda (Lepley) Bebout of Howard and the late Gary L. Bebout. Karen worked for the Mount Vernon Developmental Center as a LPN. She attended the Danville Church of Christ. Karen had a great love for animals, especially her little dog, Bear.

Karen is survived by her son, Michael Schirtzinger and his fiancé, Sabrina Piper of Mount Vernon; a brother, Ken and his wife, La Tina Bebout of Circleville; a niece, Chelsea Bebout; a sister, Kathy Bebout of Howard; her former husband, Gary Schirtzinger of Mount Vernon; and many close friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 4 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, with Matthew McManaway officiating. Private burial will be at a later date.
