FORT MYERS, Fla. — Robert O. Spratt of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Mount Vernon and Huron, Ohio, died Dec. 8, 2009, at Health Park Hospice Home of Fort Myers.
He was born Aug. 25, 1920, to Robert and Mary (Mayme) Spratt in Norwalk, Ohio. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1938. He entered the Army on Sept. 14, 1942; served as administrative specialist; and was honorably discharged on Feb. 13, 1946.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Fanchon E. Spratt, in 1933; and his second wife, Marie Spratt, in 2008.
He is survived by his son, Robert W. Spratt of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; stepchildren from first marriage, a daughter, Pat (Larry) Gault of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and son, Pastor Dave Lucci (Karen) of Folsom, Calif.; stepchildren from his second marriage, Lisa Shadle and Pat (Dave) Daniel of Fort Myers, and Connie Harris of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Cathy Gault of Mount Vernon, Jim (Debbie) Gault of Apple Valley, Kimberly (Tim) Hutchison of Findlay, Ohio, Sherre and Mathew Lucci of Folsom, Calif., and Michelle (Jose) Garcia of Sacramento, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Rachel and Tony Gault of Apple Valley, Colton and McKenzie Hutchison of Findlay, Ohio, Ian McGee, Jessica Fike, Ed Zarick, Beth Toney and Richard Mahaffey of Fort Myers, Shane and Lace Veitch of St. Louis, Mo., Jose Jr., Angello, Julian and Jemma Garcia of Sacramento, Calif., and Aliya Lucci of Folsom, Calif.
After retirement from the U.S. Postal Service in Huron, Ohio, he and his wife, Fanchon, moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio. He worked for Gault Cleaners and Colonial Men’s Wear.
When Bob and Marie Shadle were married in December 1996, he moved to Fort Myers, where Marie was living.
A memorial service will be held at Gay Street United Methodist Church chapel on Friday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m., with his son, Dave, officiating.
