MOUNT VERNON — M. Pauline Goodwin, 79, of Mount Vernon died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Pauline was born May 24, 1930, in Lore City, Ohio, to Ira and Mary (Dowell) Hall. In 1951 she married George K. Goodwin and they moved to Mount Vernon in 1974 when they purchased the Commins Electric and renamed the business Goodwin Electric. Pauline worked beside her husband in the family business for 20 years. Pauline was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church near Jelloway.
Surviving are her sons, Dale I. Goodwin of New Albany, Ind., George Michael (Pam) Goodwin of Duluth, Ga., and Glen A. (Lisa) Goodwin of Mount Vernon; her daughter, Rebecca J. “Becky” (Lowell) Rollins of Mount Vernon; seven grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Salzgaber of Grandview.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George K. Goodwin, in 1994; five brothers, Vernon Hall, Richard Hall, Donald Hall, Charles Hall and Robert Hall; and her sister, Mildred Taylor.
Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a service celebrating the life of Pauline Goodwin will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. with her nephew, Ralph Edward Salzgaber II officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
