BLADENSBURG — James C. Stidham, 88, of Bladensburg died Dec. 15, 2009, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.
He was born May 3, 1921, in Bloom, Ohio, to the late Charles and Cora (Conley) Stidham. James was a member of the Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran and retired from Kaiser Aluminum in 1984.
He is survived by his sons, John (Cami) Stidham of Walhonding and Rick (Amanda) Stidham of Fredericktown; his daughters, Sandy (Joe) Collins of Bremen, Jan (Gerald) Harbison of Georgia and Debra (Kent) Adir of Tennessee; brothers, Ernest Stidham of Newark and David Stidham of Florida; sister, Lucy Gill of Hebron; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Stidham; a son, Jim Stidham; and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Newark Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Newark with military graveside rites conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg is handling the funeral arrangements for the Stidham family.
