DELAWARE — Jr. Sparks, 59, of Delaware died peacefully at home Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, surrounded by his family.

Born on March 8, 1950, in Martha, Ky., to the late Emary and Jane (Fannin) Sparks. He was the lead singer and guitarist for the Cedar Bluff Blue Grass Band.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Phyllis (Hubbard); children, William Sparks Jr., Lana Marie Woods, Tom Daniels of Martinsburg, Jack Daniels, Shawn Daniels, Hope Morris; adopted son, Paul Darling; 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings, George Sparks, Buck Sparks, Delmas Sparks, Maggie Robinson and Evelyn VonDach.

Preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Friends may call Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, and graveside service will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery near Sparta, with Bill “Bulldozer” McGraw offering prayers.
