GAMBIER — Jean R. Davis, 54, of Gambier died unexpectedly at her residence Dec. 20, 2009.
She was born in Knox County on Aug. 12, 1955, to Paul E. and Margaret R. (Clark) Davis. Jean was a 1972 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and a 1979 graduate of Mount Vernon Bible College. She was employed by Columbia Gas and retired at age 50. Jean was a member of Community Christian Fellowship, Road Riders for Jesus, Knox County Kayak Club and the Gold Wing Club. She enjoyed working on the farm and loved her animals. She also enjoyed woodworking and riding her motorcycles. Jean loved her family and her friends. She will be sadly missed by many.
Jean is survived by her sister, Regina (Roger) Brown of Loudonville, Ohio, and DeLand, Fla.; nephews and nieces, Greg Davis, Jennifer Davis, Becky Davis, Stephanie Wohlgemuth and Daniel Blubaugh; and great-niece and nephew, Shauna Davis and Aiden Wohlgemuth.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Doris M. and Robert Miller, in 1961; brother, Bob Davis, in 2001; and brother-in-law, Brian Blubaugh, in 1992.
Friends may call Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Community Christian Fellowship, 23436 Newcastle Road, where funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Bob Pelfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s name to Community Christian Fellowship. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg is handling the funeral arrangements for the Davis family.
