CENTERBURG — John E. “Jitterbug” Parker Jr., 68, of Centerburg died Dec. 22, 2009.

He was born Aug. 4, 1941, in Centerburg to the late John E. Sr. and Ruth Etta (Wince) Parker. He was a member of the Centerburg Church of Christ. Jitterbug, a nickname given to him by his father when he was a baby, was a mechanic.

He is survived by sons, Jeff (Tammy) Parker and Jim (Tina) Parker; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; stepdaughters, Kim Rushia and Debbie Wells; brothers, Charles (Pat), Roy (Shirley), Joe (Darlene), Ricky (Tammy), Larry and Gary; sisters, Mary Ellen Osborne and Etta May Leedy.

He was preceded in death by son, John; stepson, Randy Wells; brother, Tommy.

Friends may call Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Centerburg Church of Christ, 3830 S. Columbus Road, where service will be Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Roger Crego will officiate. Internment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery.
